AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to offer a wide picture of statistics education in Venezuela, specially at the Middle and Basic Education. To accomplish this objective I compare the both mathematics curriculum for the Basic Education (nine grades of compulsory schooling) and Middle Education (two or three years of secondary education which are also compulsory). These curriculum prescribe probability and statistic content for 7 to 17 years-old students. I analyze some problems in the teaching of probability and statistics.
